Spent about ten nights in The Waterfront and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. There's a great mix of professionalism and attention to detail but blended with a personal, informal touch. Sue and Robin are a joy to meet and their staff are excellent, within a very short time you feel right at home!
Rooms are lovely and soooooooooo clean! Breakfast not to be missed, definitely the best pancakes in the region (Well done, Cooking!). Good craic at the bar at night but never rowdy. Really it would be hard to fault this little gem!
Fantastic, wonderful The place to have the time of your life. This was our 3rd trip to the wonderful country of Thailand. Previously we played it safe by booking 5 star hotel and spa accommodation. Consequently, we were a little apprehensive when we realised that the cost of this holiday was £1000 less than previous years.
However, from the moment we arrived we felt that we had bagged the bargain of a lifetime.
The rooms were excellent and the service was second to none. Robin and Sue (owners) their family and the staff seem dedicated to making sure that your every need is met.
The views were breathtaking, the food was great, and the hotel is located close to everything you need to shop, eat and drink.
But the thing that made this holiday really special was the atmosphere. It’s very hard to explain this - it is so relaxed, friendly and welcoming - even though you’re far away from home you feel part of a big, happy family.
During our visit the hotel won the “Asia’s best hidden gem an award” but now we feel that the Waterfont is becoming one of Thailand’s worst kept secrets, with more and more people retuning year after year.
Total relaxation with great hospitality
Well I admit I was a tad worried after some reviews here, but I needn't have been. The Waterfront was all I hoped for and more.
After a week touring Hong Kong and Bangkok, we simply wanted to relax. The Waterfront was the place to do it. We were met at the airport by Michael who showed us around Bophut en route to the hotel.
Sue introduced us to the staff, who from then on knew what room we were in, and simply charged drinks, lunch etc. automatically.
Sue then took us to our room and showed us how everything worked....and from then on it felt like we were personally invited house guests.
Room information included recommended shops and restaurants in the village, also places of interest around the island.
Plus on our wedding anniversary, our bed was decorated with flower petals spelling out a Happy Anniversary message. (Oh dear, I DO hope those flower stains washed out Sue!)
We had a wonderful week, the only downside was that we had to leave.
That's when we got a nice surprise,... We'd charged all drinks, lunch, snacks etc to the room. Our bill at the end of 7 days for 2 people came to £109! All prices were the same as or less than in the village
When we did check out, Robin even drove us back to the airport. How can you fault service like that?
I so hope we will visit again. It's a place I would have invented if it had not already been done!
Thanks, Sue, Robin and Michael for a fantastic stay.
In the words of Arnie Schwarzenegger...We'll be BACK!
